Have you been getting a codec update pop-up everytime you start your computer ?
'windows essencials media codecs update service' (essentials is mispelled)
Well I had for the last few weeks and finally got around to checking it out. Its nothing harmful just annoying. To fix it I removed the codec pack I had downloaded awhile back -- just go to the removal section in the 'Control Panel' and remove it. Then go to CNET and download the new version. It seems to work fine. click here to download the latest one
